Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and head of the presidential office Andriy Yermak arrived in Washington to prepare the first official visit of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the United States.
“Today, Andrey Yermak and I are in Washington to prepare the first official visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Washington at the invitation of US President Joe Biden, which will take place on August 30,” Kuleba wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
According to him, the Ukrainian side will hold meetings with the US Presidential Assistant for National Security Jake Sullivan, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, senators and American experts.
“The presidents of Ukraine and the United States have a number of big topics for discussion at the upcoming meeting. But whatever they are, there will be no “raised tones” or any kind of blackmail. There will be a conversation between the allies, who are working together to solve complex problems of security and prosperity of Ukraine, Europe and the Euro-Atlantic space, ”the Ukrainian minister said.
Earlier, the press secretary of the head of the American administration Jen Psaki said that Biden would receive Zelensky at the White House on August 30.
