Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktov said today that 26 bodies were found under two houses in the town of Borodyanka, Kyiv region, which were searched by the Ukrainian authorities after the withdrawal of Russian forces, BTA reports.
At a press conference, Venediktov did not say whether the cause of death had been established, but accused Russian forces of carrying out air strikes on the city before its capture.
Evacuation trains for the population of eastern Ukraine are blocked today by strikes by Russia on the only railway branch that remained under Ukraine’s control, said Ukrzaliznytsia director Oleksandr Kamyshyn.
“The enemy struck from the air on the railway branch to the Luhansk station, on the branch from Donetsk. This is the only exit railway route from such cities as Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and Lyman, which is under the control of Ukraine, “a Telegram representative wrote.
Today, this line is “the survival route of tens of thousands of our fellow citizens.” According to him, three trains were blocked in Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
“We are waiting for the end of the shelling to clarify the situation. Passengers from the blocked trains are transferred to the station before this clarification,” he wrote.
Ukrainian authorities are urging the population of the eastern regions under their control to evacuate as soon as possible, predicting a massive offensive by Russian troops.
Luhansk Oblast Governor Serhiy Haidai warned today that this was the last chance, as the Russians cut off all possible ways out.
