Sean Penn admitted that he “thought about taking up arms” against the Russians after a trip to Ukraine to shoot a documentary.
The war in Ukraine changed his life forever. After visiting the country attacked by Russia on February 24, 2022, Sean Penn admitted that he “thought about taking up arms.”
The only reason I would stay in Ukraine longer is to take up arms, but perhaps without a bulletproof vest, because as a foreigner you want to give it to one of those civilian soldiers who doesn’t have it, or a fighter who is more experienced. me, or a young man who can fight longer,” – admitted the two-time Oscar winner in an interview with Hollywood Authentic.

“If you were in Ukraine, you probably thought about the fight. The other day I was at a gas station in Brentwood and thought about taking up arms to fight Russia,” he added.
In late February, Sean Penn visited Ukraine to make a documentary about the war and meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky. The 61-year-old director is also helping Ukrainian refugees with his CORE Foundation, founded after the Haiti earthquake in January 2010. The foundation provides training, seminars and funding to repair the empty housing of refugees.
