Ukrainian authorities claim that more than 400 people have gone missing in the city of Gostomel, which, along with Bucha and Irpen, has borne the brunt of Russia’s attack on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv.
The village is a northwestern suburb of Kiev with a population of about 16,000 people.
Antonov International Freight Airport is nearby.
Local official Taras Dumenko said most of the bodies of Gostomel residents had been found in neighboring villages and the town of Bucha. He believes that the Russians could have kidnapped people and taken them away for execution, Interfax Ukraine reports.
