The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports that the Russian attack in some areas has been stopped. Defense Minister Aleksei Reznikov said in a daily statement that the morale of Russian soldiers is low and that some commanders refuse to participate in the fighting.
According to the morning report of the General Staff, the commanders of various ranks of the Russian 3rd Mechanized Division of the 20th Army refuse to participate in hostilities. “The military will have to “massively write letters of resignation,” the headquarters said in a Facebook post.
Russians refuse to participate in the war
The Ukrainian command also claims that servicemen of two battalion tactical groups from the 4th Russian military base (from occupied South Ossetia, the headquarters announced their transfer to Ukraine on March 30) refused to participate in hostilities in Ukraine.
To compensate for the loss of personnel in the army, the Russian authorities are campaigning among the civilian population to join the army. Such actions are carried out on the territory of the Russian Federation and in the occupied Donetsk and Lugansk regions, as well as in the Crimea. Russian troops systematically violate the provisions of international humanitarian law regarding the conduct of war.
The occupying troops place military equipment in close proximity to residential areas, commit violence against the civilian population, rob and steal. Oleksiy Reznikov said that the Ukrainian army repelled 6 enemy attacks in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, destroyed 4 tanks and 6 armored vehicles. The Ukrainian Air Force yesterday shot down two Russian aircraft, one helicopter, a drone and four cruise missiles.
