Ukrainian photographer and documentary maker Max Levin has been found dead near the capital, Kyiv, after disappearing more than two weeks ago, presidential adviser Andriy Yermak said today.
“He disappeared in the conflict zone on March 13 in the Kiev region. His body was found near the village of Guta Mezhigorskaya on April 1, ”he told Telegram.
Public organization “Institute of Mass Communications” said with reference to the data of the preliminary prosecutor’s investigation that the journalist was killed by “two shots” of the Russian military.
Levin (40), father of four, worked in Ukrainian and foreign media.
During fighting between Ukrainian troops and pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine in 2014, he managed to escape from the besieged city, where hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers were killed.
