In total, 176 children died and more than 324 were injured during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The data belongs to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine.
The death toll is not definitive, as areas from which Russian troops are withdrawing are still being cleared.
It is believed that many children were left under the ruins of destroyed houses. The statement of the prosecutor’s office was published in the institution’s Telegram channel.
It adds that the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine leads in negative statistics for child victims of explosions – as many as 102.
91 children were killed in the capital Kyiv. Children died in eight more cities, including Kharkov, Chernigov and Nikolaev.
