Moldova strongly condemns crimes against humanity in Ukraine and declares April 4 a day of mourning for all those who died
“We are shocked along with the whole world by the massacre in the city of Bucha near Kiev. Moldova strongly condemns these crimes against humanity, just as it condemns this illegal and unprovoked war waged by the Russian Federation against Ukraine,” Moldovan President Maia Sandu tweeted.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova also reacted to the massacre in the Ukrainian town. “Deeply shocked by the photographs of civilians killed in the Ukrainian city of Bucha. The Republic of Moldova strongly condemns the massacres of civilians and demands that those responsible be brought to justice. We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the Ukrainian people,” the MFAEI said in a statement.
As Ukrinform reported, Irpen, Bucha, Gostomel and the entire Kyiv region were liberated from Russian troops. In the liberated towns and villages, massacres of civilians by Russians have been recorded. In particular, a mass grave was found in liberated Bucha, where almost 300 people were buried, dozens of bodies lay along the streets, some of them with their hands tied.
The Ukrainian delegation to the OSCE initiated a special meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in connection with the massacres and torture against civilians committed by Russian troops in the Kiev region.
