According to Turizm Aktuel, Istanbul has become the leader in Europe in terms of hotel occupancy.
The Athens Hoteliers Association conducted a study on the demand for rooms in 3*, 4*, and 5* hotels in Europe. Istanbul is the leader in this list, where hotels were filled by 72.7% in August.
Experts explain this not only by the many attractions and the large volume of air travel but also by the low cost of rooms. Their average daily price is 127.8 euros. For comparison: in London, the average price of a hotel room is 204 euros, and in Rome – 186 euros.
On the second line of the list is Barcelona with 70.6% of the filled rooms in August, on the third – London (70.4%). The TOP 10 most popular tourist cities also included Paris, Athens, Madrid, Berlin, Rome, Amsterdam, and Munich.
