Greek authorities have declared 12 employees of Russian diplomatic missions accredited in the republic persons non grata, the Greek Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
The report said the officials had been “declared undesirable in accordance with the provisions of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations”. According to the agency, the Russian ambassador to Greece was informed about this decision.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, Western countries have declared a total of more than 300 Russian diplomats persona non grata. Poland (45), Germany (40), Slovakia (35), France (35), and Italy (30) sent the most Russian diplomats.
The United States has sent an embassy adviser and declared 12 members of Russia’s UN mission persona non grata.
