China will not join the European and American financial sanctions imposed against Russia in connection with the invasion of Ukraine. This was announced by the Chinese banking regulator with reference to world agencies.
“We will not join these sanctions, we will maintain normal economic, trade and financial ties with our partners. China opposes sanctions,” said Guo Shuqing, chairman of the Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission.
According to the Chinese side, all sanctions are unilateral, as they have no legal basis and will not have the desired effect.
