“Given the scale, to avoid risk to customers and railway staff, we decided to interrupt traffic in much of Wallonia,” explains Infrabel Managing Director Benoit Gilson. “Once the situation is under control, we will assess the damage, set priorities and take all necessary measures to safely restore traffic.”
