The Russian actions of Ukraine brought moral damage to Moscow, because they do not comply with the rules of war. This is not a war, but devastation, leading to incredible human suffering. Russia and Putin deserve the most severe condemnation from the civilized world, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said today ahead of a joint meeting of European foreign and defense ministers in Brussels.
“This is not war, but reckless destruction. There are some rules in war, though. We will consider new sanctions against Russia, especially in the energy sector,” he added.
“Russia really commits a lot of war crimes, I must say, this is true. Huge war crimes were committed in Mariupol, everything was destroyed, everyone was beaten indiscriminately. This is terrible, we must condemn him as severely as possible, ”Borrell urged.
He called on the EU countries to build up their defense potential in a coordinated manner. “We will provide additional financial support to Ukraine,” the High Representative said.
