Thailand introduced a visa-free regime for Ukrainian tourists, and Russians refused

The Thai authorities nevertheless officially decided to increase the validity of visa-free entry for foreign tourists from 30 to 45 days. However, Russia is not included in the list of states whose citizens are subject to innovation. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Tourism of the kingdom.

In particular, holders of a Ukrainian passport will be able to enter under the new rules. The updated procedure will take effect from October 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023. In turn, the validity of visa on arrival, which is issued by citizens of some countries, such as India, Saudi Arabia, China, and others, will also increase from 15 days to 30.

As Thai officials explain, the innovation is designed to revitalize the kingdom’s tourism industry, for example, by potentially increasing the period of tourists’ holidays in Thailand.
