Uzbekistan allowed to suspend from work unvaccinated

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law allowing the suspension of employees who have not been vaccinated from work. It entered into force on August 3, ASIA-PLUS reports.

The law amended the Labor Code of the country so that if an employee refuses to undergo preventive vaccination introduced in the presence of a threat of the spread of infectious diseases (in the absence of contraindications for health reasons), the employer has the right not to allow him to work.

“A specific norm has been introduced into Article 28 of the Law” On the Protection of Citizens’ Health “according to which, by the decision of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Uzbekistan, [mandatory] preventive vaccination of the population may be introduced in the event of a threat of the spread of quarantine and other infectious diseases dangerous to humans”, – the message says

In Uzbekistan, since July 17, mandatory vaccination has been introduced for some categories of citizens.

These are employees of medical and educational institutions, transport companies, retail outlets, civil servants and a number of others.

At the same time, the Minister of Justice Ruslanbek Davletov said that the employer can remove, and not expel, from work for refusing to vaccinate.
