The administration of US President Joe Biden intends to propose a minimum tax for the super-rich as part of the 2023 budget. This is stated in a document published by the White House on March 26.
According to the project, a tax of at least 20% will be levied on households with property of more than $100 million – there are more than 700 of them in the US. Now they pay taxes at a lower rate than the rest of the population.
The new tax will cut the budget deficit by about $360 billion over the next decade. US Democrats want to use it to fund plans for massive investment in social programs and climate protection.
