Britons on social media are wondering if British Supreme Court justices are getting the Queen’s favor by acting very servile to Meghan’s royal family, Duchess of Sussex.
Queen Elizabeth II is the boss of the judges. If Her Majesty makes it clear that her family should be kept out of the courts, then so be it. End of story! Any talk of Associated Newspapers considering an appeal to the UK Supreme Court has been laughable.
Just look at the faces of the judges next to Her Majesty. They are in their element, with their queen who has power, you can say that these judges are trying too hard to please her. One thing is for sure, if Her Majesty had concluded that she did not want a member of the royal family to shout across the courtroom at her own father, then nothing more would have to be said. A nod or a wink would have been enough.
Remember, it was Meghan Markle who started the civil lawsuit against Mail on Sunday. The newspaper wanted to be able to defend itself and was willing to provide witnesses and documents. Why was it not allowed? Did the queen “rely” on the judges? Of course, she would not have called and demanded to stop the process, but a hint from her subordinates could have been enough.
So the British now know that three judges of the Court of Appeal refused to listen to evidence provided by newspapers associated with the Associated Newspapers, as a result of which Meghan Markle did not even have to go to court, she won it in absentia.
They had to admit that Meghan Markle’s credibility was in question when she was forced to apologize to the court for not remembering facts that would undoubtedly go against her. But the judges turned a blind eye to this.
Speaking through her lawyers, the Duchess of Sussex previously stated that she had not collaborated with the authors of In Search of Freedom. It was later revealed that numerous discussions, emails and text messages were flying between her and the authors, but she simply forgot to mention it in court.
The public says she lied to the court and only admitted it when she was caught. But the court thinks otherwise.
Should this story be considered a precedent that they never lied?
Don’t even think about the Archbishop of Canterbury performing his wedding ceremony three days before the official wedding. Meghan Markle never said that to Oprah. The audience just misheard!
Meghan Markle’s victory in court was a sad day for the British judicial system.
