On the advice of doctors, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain will rest in the coming days, Reuters reports, citing a statement from Buckingham Palace.
She canceled a planned visit to Northern Ireland.
Buckingham Palace did not reveal the reason why 95-year-old Elizabeth II was advised to rest. However, the statement says she is “in good spirits” and hopes to visit Northern Ireland in the future.
“The Queen reluctantly took the doctor’s advice to rest for the next few days,” said Buckingham Palace.
“Her Majesty is in good spirits and disappointed that she will not be able to visit Northern Ireland, where she is committed to today and tomorrow.”
According to sources, Elizabeth II’s decision is not related to COVID-19.
The Queen sends “warmest wishes to the people of Northern Ireland and hopes to come there in the future.”
