As the Associated Press reports, Norwegian authorities are urging residents of the country not to leave their homes and exercise increased caution due to the approach of the Ingunn storm, which meteorologists call the strongest in 30 years.
In the Trondheim area and the Lofoten Islands, a “red” level of danger has been declared.
The storm is expected to bring strong winds with gusts ranging from 126 to 180 km/h. In this regard, there may be interruptions in air traffic and disruption of ferries. Some ferry companies have already announced the suspension of flights.
In Norway, some schools have been closed, and roads, tunnels, and bridges in the mountainous regions of the country have been blocked.
