How many tourists and other passengers lose their luggage every year? It is about millions of suitcases a year – such shocking data is contained in the report of the global baggage tracking organization SITA. Moreover, last year, in connection with the plane crash, a kind of record was set – we were already talking about tens of millions of lost and damaged suitcases. Experts also named the TOP airlines that lose luggage most often.
So, last year turned out to be a record – 26.3 million pieces of luggage were lost all over the world. These data include damaged suitcases and pieces of luggage that were lost during the plane collapse that caused fever in all European airports last year.
The number of lost luggage in 2022 broke the record of the last 10 years. Eight out of every 1,000 suitcases were lost,” the association’s experts added.
As for the airlines that most often lose luggage, according to the results of 2018-2022, the TOP of them is as follows:
