The most famous tourist carrier in Turkey – the Varan Turizm bus company (whoever has been to Turkey – must have come across this company’s logo in the form of a centaur shooting a bow) has announced its bankruptcy. The company has been operating since 1946 and was considered the most famous tourist transport company in Turkey in this sector. However, Turkey assures that transportation by Varan buses continues.
The company was officially declared bankrupt on November 30, and it has now been officially announced. Turkish media said the company was the leader in this sector until 2017. In 2017, it ran into financial difficulties, and control of it passed to creditor banks, then it passed to Varan Grup Turizm Anonim Şirketi, founded in Ankara in October 2019 by Kemal Soganci and Fatih Islam.
However, Varan Turizm failed to emerge: the 2nd Commercial Court of First Instance of Bakirkey decided on the bankruptcy of Varan Turizm Seyahat Anonim Şirketi on November 30, 2022. Bankruptcy proceedings have been initiated against the company, and the liquidation process has begun. At the same time, the Turkish media especially emphasize that Varan buses run without a break. By the way, those tourists who like to travel independently and actively move around the country in search of various attractions used Varan bus transportation services in Turkey.
