The Germans were scared: the reason for the decline in sales of tourist tours this winter was named

Tour sales in Germany have finally reached a “positive balance” for the first time since the pandemic. However, the result of tour sales this winter is alarming. The main reason is that the Germans seem to have been frightened by the situation in the Middle East, and although profits from winter sales are increasing, the total number of armor is decreasing: no one wants to take the risk of vacationing in an explosive region.

“In this winter period, things are not very rosy for agencies in the German travel market. The sales decreased compared to the previous month due to a decrease in sales to Egypt due to the conflict in the Middle East,” German media reported. In the figures for October, the share of winter sales decreased by 7%, to 43%.

True, although fewer tours are sold, they are sold more expensively. Revenues from winter sales increased by 7% compared to the pre-coronavirus situation and by 46% compared to last winter.

The mass media also reported a comforting trend — based on data from local travel agencies and tour operators, the 2023 season was the first year in which a positive balance was achieved since the beginning of the pandemic. Nevertheless, the number of tourists in the summer period is still 12.5% lower than during the pandemic. “In other words, the increase in income occurred at the expense of the increase in travel prices,” the mass media noted.
