Flight attendant Jet, quoted by the British Daily Star, shared on her online blog that the staff “sighs” every time someone orders a soda on the plane. The girl asked vacationers not to ask for “pops” during the flight, noting that pouring and serving them is “just a nightmare”:
“Soft drinks foam a lot more when poured from a can, I literally have to sit and wait for the bubbles to drop before I can continue the action. This is not the best choice if you want to be served quickly,” she explained her point view of a stewardess.
The flight attendant remarked that the crew members would “appreciate if you choose something else”:
“If all three passengers order soda, I start pouring it, take three more drink orders, serve them, and then finish with the first three,” Jet added.
Earlier, another flight attendant blogger shared a graphic video on TikTok why the crew hates serving Diet Coke:

In addition to being long and irritating to flight attendants, carbonated drinks can also cause discomfort and digestive problems during the flight. If you really call the best drink for flying on an airplane, then this is plain water. The lower air humidity in airplanes can lead to dehydration faster than on land. If you have a long flight ahead of you, be sure to drink enough water.
On-board food also contains a lot of salt, because the pressure in the cabin interferes with the perception of taste. Salt in food can also increase the feeling of thirst.
Flight attendant Tommy Chimato commented on a colleague’s post: “Don’t forget to drink water. Stay hydrated. You need to have at least 0.5 liters of water on every flight, so keep that in mind.”
