The world’s busiest airports to avoid during the holidays have been named. The publication Schengenvisainfo cites a study by VisaGuide.World, which presents a new ranking of the world’s most stressful airports. Five of the ten largest airports are located in Europe, and one of them is in Turkey – we are talking about Istanbul.
The ranking is based on a survey conducted by VisaGuide.World, in which 1,642 frequent travelers from 53 nationalities participated, and were asked about the factors that cause them the most stress during air travel. The 30 largest airports in the world were evaluated according to the most chosen factor. These factors include the number of passengers, crowding, delays, large airports that are difficult to navigate, etc.
As a result, the ten most stressful airports in the world turned out to be:
- London Gatwick Airport
- Istanbul airport
- Munich Airport Freising
- Denver International Airport, USA
- Heathrow Airport, London
- Los Angeles International Airport
- Rome-Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, Fiumicino
- Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, USA
- John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, USA

The raters advise travelers to avoid these airports if they want a stress-free end-of-year vacation.
