Lonely Planet has presented a new book, “100 of the World’s Most Incredible Beaches,” DailyMail reports.
The collection contains photographs, recommendations on how to get to each location, and an explanation of why the beach is included in the collection. The list includes five picturesque coastlines in the British Isles, as well as the gems of the Caribbean, Greece, Hawaii, Seychelles, Cape Town, and Australia.
“Discover the world’s most extraordinary coastlines in this dazzling display of varied beaches — caves, coves, and arches; mystical mist and sprawling coastlines; urban and surf beaches; unique formations, coastlines, colors, and vistas. These are the most spectacular beaches in the world,” writes Lonely Planet in its foreword.
Writing about Phi Phi Island in Thailand, Lonely Planet notes that the beach reopened on January 1, 2022, after being closed for four years to combat damage caused by visitors.
“Maya Bay even meets Hollywood standards of a tropical paradise. Its beautiful sands were used as a film set for the blockbuster film The Beach, starring Leonardo DiCaprio,” Lonely Planet points out.
The guide’s list of the best beaches in Oceania included Blue Lagoon Beach in Nanuia Lailai, the Yasawa Islands in Fiji, Lalomanu Beach in Upolu, Samoa, as well as Tapuaetai Beach, Aitutaki Island and the Cook Islands.
African beaches included in the collection are Kemps Bay Beach in Cape Town, Mnemba Island in Zanzibar, Le Morne Beach in Mauritius, Nosy Iranja in Madagascar, and Anse Source d’Argan Beach in the Seychelles.
Radhanagar Beach in the Andaman Islands in India, Palolem Beach in Goa, Fulhadhoo Island in the Maldives, Padar Island in Indonesia, and many other places in Asia were also featured in the Lonely Planet book.
