Flight attendants know a lot about travel, one of them shared useful hotel life hacks online, which she learned over the years.
Esther Sturrus is a flight attendant for KLM and has made videos of helpful hotel hacks, and while they’re all interesting, her “shoes safe” advice got a lot of attention.

Sturrus begins by showing viewers how to properly close hotel curtains, using a clothes hanger to hold them in place.
Her second piece of advice is addressed to everyone who has a broken outlet on a trip and was unable to charge their devices.
“Use a USB cable and charge it on your TV,” the flight attendant reveals in her video.
How many people actually use the shower cap provided in hotel rooms? According to the girl, there is another great use for her. Sturrus uses it as a cover for his shoes before putting it in his suitcase. Brilliant!
She adds that a shower cap is also useful as a cover for the remote control, as she notes they can be dirty.
For those worried about forgetting something in a locker or safe before flying, Sturrus recommends putting one of your shoes in there so you’ll notice when you’re about to walk out the door.
Finally, travelers usually use their room keys to turn on the electricity in hotel rooms. Sturrus explains that this can be avoided by using any other card you have for this purpose.
