23-year-old Russian citizen Vladimir Popov died on June 8 in Hurghada, Egypt after being attacked by a tiger shark. Now his body is in the morgue – forensic experts told the terrible details of the death of a guy, reports Jauns.
It is reported that a day after the tragedy, local fishermen caught the predator with a net. The shark was cut open, and Vladimir’s head and hand were found inside. The medical examiner said the man arrived at the morgue “disfigured and with many parts missing.”
“According to the data registered by the Red Sea Health Authority, the body arrived at the Hurghada General Hospital morgue in separate parts, the face has distorted features. It is even difficult to identify. And the head is completely torn,” the doctors explained.
Now the body is at the disposal of the prosecutor’s office and the forensic medical examination, which is conducting an autopsy as part of the investigation. Vladimir Popov’s father, who witnessed the tragedy, is still unable to receive his body. He plans to have his son cremated and then transported for burial at home.
“The body of the deceased will not be handed over to his family until the forensic medicine has completed its procedures that serve the course of the investigation of the incident,” a hospital spokesman was quoted as saying.
A source from the clinic said that the shark tore the chest of the deceased, and also swallowed parts of the abdomen and hands.
