Russia’s tourism has been left without aircraft: they are deprived of certificates of airworthiness

Russian carriers pay for offshore jurisdictions “full landing” of liners in Russia. According to TASS, Russian airlines operate more than 800 foreign-made aircraft registered in foreign offshore jurisdictions. 95% were hit – because they have the “nationality” of Great Britain – or rather, belong to it, Bermuda and Ireland.

The reason is that the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA), owned by the United Kingdom, has announced the suspension of certificates of airworthiness of aircraft of Russian airlines operated under an agreement between the two countries. “International sanctions against the aviation sector have affected the ability to control the safety of aircraft of Russian airlines in the Bermuda Aircraft Register. The airworthiness system has been so limited that the BCAA cannot say with certainty that these aircraft are airworthy, ”the ICAA said in a statement.

As a result, it stated that as of 02:59 Moscow time on March 13, 2022, the BCAA will temporarily suspend all certificates of airworthiness of aircraft operated under the agreement between Bermuda and the Russian Federation.

Thus, transporting Russian tourists by air has become almost useless.

Earlier I was told that Russian citizens were banned from entering India via Uzbekistan, read the details at the link.
