While the health authorities in Ukraine are telling horror stories about Omicron, the pandemic in Cuba is beginning to unfold: organized Ukrainian tourists have received a nice bonus – now after arriving on Freedom Island, tour operators will not require PCR tests and so-called vaccination certificates. This decision was made by the Ministry of Health of Cuba on January 5, and at the moment it has entered into force.
In general, the new rules now apply to tourists traveling through tour operators. The permit was introduced for tourists from Ukraine, as well as from Russia, Poland and Canada. The official explanation from the Cuban Ministry of Health is that the decision is related to “improving the epidemiological situation in Cuba and high vaccination coverage.” Tests and vaccination certificates are also not required for tourists and check-in at the hotel.
The only requirement left is to fill in the D’Viajeros electronic form. And in this case, relaxation is provided. Previously, tourists had to send it no later than 12 hours before departure. At the moment, tourists are allowed to fill out a questionnaire upon arrival, and for this, tourists will be provided with free wireless internet for 30 minutes at the airport of arrival – which, given the Cuban Internet – a significant bonus.
