According to Turizm Aktuel, World Travel Market (WTM) and Forward Keys have compiled a rating of the most popular cities that EU tourists choose for summer holidays.
Thus, Antalya (Turkey) is in the lead in the list of the most popular cities among Europeans, interest in which has increased by 81% compared to the pre-pandemic 2019.
In second place is Tirana in Albania, the tourist flow to which has increased by 36% in three years.
The next six places in the TOP-10 leading beach destinations were occupied by Greek resorts. So, Mykonos took third place, Rhodes – fourth, followed by Chania, Heraklion, Santorini, and Thessaloniki. The tourist flow here increased by 17–29% compared to 2019.
Rounding out the top ten are Alicante in Spain (+16%) and Funchal in Portugal (+11%).
