An international scandal between Turkey and Israel was caused by tourists who were sent to prison after arriving in Istanbul. What were the tourists accused of? It turns out that they made a video of the training of a flight attendant at a Turkish airline and ended up in prison. At the same time, as the Israeli press adds, the flight attendant accused them of sexual harassment. And even found a witness.
The details are as follows: a scandal broke out on board a Pegasus Airlines flight to Istanbul. A group of young Israeli men began filming and laughing at a flight attendant as she participated in a pre-flight safety demonstration. As the relatives of the arrested said, the flight attendant approached them and asked them to delete the video. They did so and decided that the incident was over.
However, in Istanbul, the liner was met by the police, who disembarked the entire group of Israelis. They somehow learned that a flight attendant had allegedly reported to the police that she had been sexually harassed, and another passenger corroborated her statement.
In total, nine tourists were reported to the police, but six of them were released after several hours of detention and interrogation at a Turkish police station, while the other three were transferred to a detention center, where they remain.
“My cousin filmed her giving safety instructions before takeoff. She approached him and he removed the video from his phone. She just didn’t like the Israelis,” commented one of the dismissed. At the same time, the relatives claim that they do not have any information about when the detainees will be released. The representative of the Israeli Foreign Ministry does not have it either.
