Indonesia: what are the entry rules for tourists

After Indonesia has simplified entry for foreigners, tourists are increasingly thinking about holidays in this country.

What are the requirements for COVID-19?

Indonesia removed all burdens for vaccinated tourists on international flights in May. Canceled PCR tests before the trip and upon arrival and booked a quarantined hotel in the capital. To fly to Bali, in particular, it is enough to have a vaccination certificate in English. According to the embassy, minors are not required to have vaccination certificates.

However, there are two conditions for further travel around the country. For example, to get from Denpasar in Bali to Jakarta on the island of Java, according to the new rules of the government commission on COVID-19 of August 11, a tourist must have an additional vaccination – a booster. In the presence of only two components of the vaccine, a negative PCR test is required (valid for 24 hours). For unvaccinated children from 6 to 18 years old, an antigen test that is valid for a day is enough. Children under 6 years of age are exempt from all this.

Before traveling to Indonesia, you need to download the Peduli Lindungi application to your smartphone and enter data into your account. If the plans include trips to the islands, then they fill out the e-HAC questionnaire there.

As you know, the severity of the law does not always accompany the same execution. In social networks, they note that medical document checks are generally treated very formally and often do not check their presence. According to the comments of tourists before the trip, everything seemed complicated, but everything is simple, while it is advised to print certificates and test results.

The situation in the resorts

After the opening of the country after 2 years of anti-COVID bans, tourists note that the resorts welcome the return of foreigners.

It is noted that Bali is successfully restoring the tourist infrastructure. In November, the island will host a summit of G20 heads of state. According to eyewitnesses, they are actively preparing for the event: they are putting in order hotels and streets to receive thousands of high-ranking guests and journalists from all over the world.

The mask regime is observed by hotel staff, often in the service sector. At the same time, guests are allowed to be without masks.
