In Greece, nudists have started a war against the ban on sunbathing naked

At the popular Greek resort, the island of Gavdos near Crete, there was a conflict between nudists and local authorities. Authorities have put up no nudity signs, which has outraged nudists who visit the area to practice naturism. Nudists even defiantly undressed and began to remove these signs.

The island of Gavdos has become a famous attraction for nudists, where they gather on wild beaches for sunbathing and swimming without clothes. They expressed their outrage on social media, saying they came here to get in touch with nature and feel free.

The local authorities, however, are determined to oppose nudists harshly. The mayor of the island, Lilian Stefanaki, said they were not going to back down and would put up new no-go signs after the previous ones were taken down by unidentified individuals. She stressed that this is aimed at protecting public property.

It should be noted that similar conflicts have flared up before. For example, in Catalonia, nudists raised a scandal, fighting for their rights on the beaches. In Spain, in general, there are no laws against naturism, but some nudist beaches have become centers for attracting traditional tourists, which has caused discontent among some naturists. They recently started a campaign against discrimination and for their right to free exposure on “wild” beaches.
