This was stated by the head of the Central Department of Underwater Antiquities under the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of the country Islam Salim.
According to him, after the completion of the survey and study process, excursions will be conducted to the place of discovery of the ship in glass-bottomed submarines.
Over the weekend, the agency reported that archaeologists-divers discovered in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of the Egyptian city of El Alamein the wreckage of a sunken merchant ship dating back to the 3rd century BC.
Salim explained that, by the agreement between Egypt and UNESCO, underwater finds must remain in place, except in cases where they may be damaged or lost.
