Archaeologists during excavations in the province of Qena in Egypt discovered a statue of a sphinx with the face of a Roman emperor – probably Claudius. This was told by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
The discovery was made by a group of archaeologists from the University of Ain Shams, led by the former Minister of Antiquities, Mamdouh al-Damati. Scientists have found a pavilion from the time of the Roman Empire to the east of the Dendera temple complex. A statue of a sphinx made of limestone with the face of a Roman emperor was excavated there.
We will remind you, earlier it was reported about the discovery of a new corridor in the pyramid of Cheops. Its length is 9 m, and its width is 2.1 m.
