In Britain, all entertainment facilities are closed: there is no money

Great Britain may be left without nightclubs and other entertainment facilities. The reason is the rise in electricity and natural gas prices – institutions now simply do not have enough money to pay for utilities. On average, nightclubs in Britain go bankrupt and close every other day, and this is a “tragedy for British culture,” industry insiders have told local media.

A total of 123 establishments have closed over the past 9 months. Industry representatives fear that if this continues, the industry is threatened with complete closure. So, as the Times writes, Great Britain may lose about half of its remaining sites within a year.

This is a tragedy for British culture. Nightclubs nurture promising talent and are the cultural and social hubs of communities that are at risk of disappearing forever,” said Director of the Nightlife Industry Association (NTIA) Mike Kill. He also scared the public, adding that if clubs continue to close, they will be replaced by “illegal parties”. “Our industry was founded to create a safe environment that is well-regulated, well-monitored and includes first responders so people can party safely. If we face the expected downturn, people will have other social and cultural activities where there are no rules and no one ensures their safety,” Kill said in a statement.

However, this “cultural industry” is not the only one with problems. According to a report by SME Insights and insurer Simply Business, 54% of small businesses are at risk of closing due to rising costs.
