Even though the tourism industry is recovering and many tourists are catching up during the years of the pandemic, many travelers have given up on travel, DIP reports concerning Euronews.com.
Business intelligence agency Morning Consult has compiled a report on the state of travel and hospitality for 2022. According to his results, some people never plan to travel for holidays again.
The report is based on a survey of more than 16,000 Americans, Europeans, and Asia-Pacifics from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Thus, respondents from Japan were the least supportive of travel: 35 percent said they never plan to go on vacation again. In South Korea, 15 percent of people never want to travel, followed by China and the US at 14 percent each.
Among Europeans, the French are the most negative about travel: 10 percent said they never plan to travel again. The same wastoldd by 8 percent of Britons and 6 percent of Spaniards.
In addition to those who do not want to travel, there were also those who, for the sake of saving money in conditions of inflation and fear of a recession, cannot travel – 43 percent of Americans.
The Morning Consult report also predicts a decline in business travel, especially for Europeans: the shift to online. At the same time, Spanish respondents said that they had done away with business travel forever.
