Helicopter carrying tourists goes missing off Mount Everest in Nepal

A helicopter with six people on board has gone missing near Everest in Nepal, DW reports.

According to local media reports, communication with a Manang Air helicopter that took off from Surki in the Solukhumbu district and bound for the capital Kathmandu was lost 15 minutes after taking off on Tuesday morning.

The helicopter was carrying five foreign tourists and a Nepalese pilot, news agencies said, citing government officials.

The search for the helicopter that went missing on Tuesday morning after a sightseeing trip to Everest continues, officials said.
