“Kovidny trap” continues to keep tourists from moving freely around the world. Greek authorities have extended the current rule on entry PCR testing for vaccinated Ukrainian travelers and other foreign tourists for another two weeks – until Monday, February 7. The corresponding statement was made by the Greek government.
According to a press release issued by the authorities, the requirement to submit a test continues to apply to all, regardless of their vaccination status. In addition, all travelers over the age of five arriving in Greece must pass a negative PCR test no later than 72 hours before arrival or pass a rapid test within 24 hours of arrival. This requirement applies to all arrivals, regardless of nationality and vaccination status, said the country’s health authorities.
It was also clarified that citizens of Argentina, Russia, India, Uruguay, Oman, Mexico and Chile are allowed to enter the country, provided that they pass the test upon arrival, regardless of their vaccination status. The same rule applies only to unvaccinated air passengers arriving from Egypt, Albania, Argentina, Bulgaria, Brazil, Georgia, Cuba, the United Arab Emirates, India, India, China, Pakistan, Russia and Turkey.

Tourists coming from other third countries are not allowed to enter Greece without a “convincing” reason to visit the country.
In addition, the requirement to provide a completed Passenger Location Plan (PLF) remains in force, and all tourists must present such a document before departure at any time.
If the traveler is found to have a positive code test upon arrival, he will be sent to quarantine for five days. In this case, the traveler can spend this time in the chosen place of residence with the possibility of extending the time of isolation, if the symptoms remain the same as at the beginning of quarantine.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 129,494 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Greece last week and 634 died of coronavirus. At the same time, the country has one of the highest vaccination rates in the Balkans, but one of the lowest compared to other European bloc countries – 71.4 percent of Greeks received their first vaccination, 67.7 percent completed the first stage of vaccination and 41.7 percent were revaccinated.
