European countries suffer from floods

Several European countries are suffering from floods caused by heavy rains and river floods.

The most difficult situation is in Germany, where floods are observed in different regions of the country. Thus, Hannover, the capital of Lower Saxony, suffers from flooding. Near Bremen, a mass evacuation of residents is being carried out because a crack has formed in the local dam and there is a risk of structural failure. In Dresden, the Elbe River has risen by 6 m, and the water threatens the historical center.

In the neighboring Netherlands, flooding was also recorded in the eastern part of the country. The water level in the IJssel River has risen significantly; temporary dams made of sandbags are being installed along the shore.

And in Hungary, the Danube overflowed its banks and flooded Budapest. The authorities have introduced an increased level of weather danger and have organized the removal of cars from parking lots on the embankments.
