Egypt is covered by a weather anomaly: as local meteorologists have warned tourists, in the resorts and most of the cities that tourists visit with excursions, the hellish summer heat is already coming – the temperature reaches +35 degrees. At the same time, in several other places, where excursions are also very popular among tourists, on the contrary, extremely cold weather is recorded, up to freezing.
Thus, the Meteorological Department of Egypt warned about rising temperatures in some provinces of Egypt, including those visited by tourists. The heat reaches a maximum of 35 degrees. For example, hot weather is forecast in Luxor and Abu Simbel, +34 degrees is expected on the first day, and +33 on the second. It’s hot in Cairo too, the truth is “only” +28.
The hot weather was also noted in the resorts. In Hurghada and Marsa Alam, tourists can expect +31 degrees, almost the same weather in Sharm el-Sheikh – +30. For this time, these are quite high temperatures – note local meteorologists.
At the same time, they warned tourists who had gathered for an excursion from Sharm el-Sheikh separately: in the mountainous areas of Sin, the temperature remains cold, and the city of St. Catherine turned out to be the coldest point in Egypt, even freezing to sub-zero temperatures is recorded at dawn.
However, as stated by Major General Tariq Abed, the head of the city of St. Catherine, “Tourist trips to Mount Moses are operating as usual and have not been affected.” However, tourists who go there to meet the dawn should take into account that in the city of St. Catherine the temperature at dawn is about +5 degrees, and on the mountain – even lower than that, the temperature is -2 with a wind speed of about 6 km/h.
