Batumi received an award at the World Travel Awards

Georgian Batumi received the award as Europe’s Leading Emerging Travel Destination at the 29th World Travel Awards.

Batumi Mayor’s Office announced that the city has won an award over ten other tourist destinations in Europe. Tornike Rizhvadze, Chairman of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, announced that Batumi has officially been named the host city of the World Travel Awards 2023.

This is not the first time the city has received such an award. In 2019, Batumi has already received the title of the best developing destination in Europe.

The World Travel Awards event has been held since 1993 with hundreds of nominations and thousands of nominees, which are divided into different categories by continent and country. Among them are leading hotels, travel agencies, attractions, destinations, and tour operators, as well as maritime, automobile, and air transport companies.

Batumi is one of the most popular destinations for Ukrainians. The city has something to do throughout the year, but in the summer it becomes the center of attraction for tourists, primarily because of the Black Sea.
