As Rustavi 2 TV reported on Monday, an explosion rocked the seaside resort town of Batumi in Georgia last night.
According to preliminary information, a sea mine exploded, which was brought by the current. The explosion occurred very close to the shore – about 25 m, and was quite loud, it was also heard in residential areas.
According to the broadcaster, no one was injured in the incident.
The sappers arrived at the scene. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is conducting an investigation and has not yet commented on the incident.
