Storms and hurricanes have caused severe damage in Istanbul and some Turkish resorts. Local media reported the deaths of at least four people, one of whom turned out to be a tourist, and another 19 were injured.

The force of the wind was such that in the area of Chataldja the wind knocked down the clock tower, and many other destructions were recorded. The Bosphorus Strait was closed to navigation.
