A 4-meter dead shark was found on a Spanish beach

El Espanol writes that a dead shark four meters long and weighing half a ton was found on the beach in the Spanish resort of Torrevieja in the province of Alicante.

The remains of a huge predator were found on the beach by a passerby. Experts have determined that the deceased shark belongs to the Hexanchus griseus – sixgill sharks that live in temperate, subtropical, and tropical waters of all oceans. These sharks are also found in the Mediterranean and Black Seas.

According to the publication, this is not the first time sharks have appeared on Mediterranean beaches. In the summer of 2022, a two-meter-long blue shark was spotted on Poniente Beach in Benidorm.
