75 tourists have already died in one and a half months: vacationers in Thailand were warned of mortal danger

In just 1.5 months, 75 foreign tourists died and another 2,886 were injured of varying degrees of severity on the dangerous roads of resort Thailand in 2023. According to The Thaiger concerning the accident information center Thai RSC, these are the summaries of fatal road accidents.

Official data recorded from January 1 to February 15, 2023, showed that 2,099 people died in road accidents in Thailand this year. 75 of them were foreigners. As for the victims, the figures for 1.5 months are as follows: 106,133 people were injured, 2,886 of whom were foreign tourists.

The alarming statistics of last week, that is, from February 5 to 11, are as follows: 312 people, including foreigners, died on the roads of Thailand. Of the 75 foreigners who died on Thailand’s roads this year, 69.71% were men and 30.29% were women. Most of the victims, orinsteadr 75.31%, were on motorcycles. The majority of fatal accidents occurred in the landlocked resort province of Chiang Mai. Last year, Chiang Mai province (49 foreign tourists), the capital Bangkok (44 foreigners), Chonburi (in particular Pattaya) (44 people), the resort island of Phuket (33 people), and so on, were the leaders in the anti-rating of provinces in terms of deaths in traffic accidents. (32 foreigners), Rayong and Pathumthani (26 foreigners each), Samutsakhon (25 people), and the coastal province of Prachuapkhirikhan bordering Myanmar (21 people).

  • Two weeks ago, an American died after crashing his Ducati into a truck with a trailer in the resort province of Phangnga.
  • Three weeks ago, a Swede died as a result of a motorcycle accident in Roi-Et province. He was in Thailand for only five days, visiting his Thai girlfriend, whom he met on the Internet two years ago.
  • On January 20, an American died after crashing his motorcycle into a lamppost in Chonburi.
