On the island of Rhodes in Greece, tourists are being evacuated from hotels due to natural fires. Already 30,000 people have been taken by sea to safety.
Many guests of the evacuated hotels had to leave them without even taking their belongings, and some tourists left right in their swimsuits.
Let’s remind, strong natural fires are raging in Rhodes since Tuesday. At first, they were limited to inland mountainous regions, but then they shifted towards the coast.
A new heat wave in Greece creates dangerous conditions for the emergence and spread of fires. A high risk of fires is predicted in Attica, Euboea, Rhodes, Larissa, Argolis, Corinthia, Messinia, and other regions of the country.
