The European monitoring service Copernicus reported that February 2024 was the warmest in the world in the history of weather observations.
According to forecasters, the average air temperature in February was +13.54 °C, which is 0.81 degrees above the average for the period from 1991 to 2020 and 0.12 degrees above the average temperature in February 2016, the previous record.
It is clarified that February 2024 became the ninth month in a row, the temperature of which exceeded weather records.
The average temperature across Europe last month was three degrees higher than usual. It was also warmer in parts of North America, much of South America, Africa, and Western Australia.
