US President Joe Biden declined to give up his remarks to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
“I don’t care what Putin thinks of my comment,” Biden said when asked if he cared that Putin would interpret the remark as an escalation, CNN reported.
Over the weekend, Biden said Russian leader Vladimir Putin “cannot stay in power,” citing personal “outrage,” according to AFP.
“I will not take anything back. I want to make it clear that neither then nor now I do not change my mind. I have expressed the moral indignation I feel – I do not apologize for my personal feelings,” he added.
