In Romania, police dogs will be looking for people with Covid-19

The dogs will be looking for passengers with Covid-19 at Sibiu International Airport, Romania. Interior Minister Lucian Bode announced that the pilot project would become a reality by August 1.

If a specially trained police dog suspects that a person is infected with Covid-19, the traveler will be asked to take a quick test. Minister Bode stressed that no one has the right to refuse testing.

If the result is positive, the passenger will have to follow the rules of the international airport for such situations. In case of a negative test result, the passenger will not be disturbed, according to BTA.

If the police dog mission in Sibiu is successful, Romania’s Interior Ministry plans to expand it to other airports in the country.

Specially trained dogs are used in other countries to detect the infection.
